First bras, with care

The first bra is rarely about the bra. It is about a daughter noticing her body is changing, and a mother noticing she is noticing.

Most first bras in the world are designed as smaller versions of grown-up lingerie. Padded, wired, decorated with bows that feel borrowed from a different stage of life. For a girl who simply wants to feel comfortable under her t-shirt, that can feel like too much, too soon.

We design our first bras and briefs with one principle: they should feel like nothing. Soft jersey, wide gentle bands, no wires, no padding — just a small, gently printed loomela mark. A quiet layer that gives her the coverage she's looking for.

If you're shopping for this moment together, a few small things help. Let her choose the colour. Let her try things on alone if she prefers. Don't make a ceremony of it unless she wants one — and if she does, follow her lead.

Most of all, remember this is not a milestone to mark on her behalf. It is a small, ordinary chapter in a much longer story of her learning to feel at home in her own body. Our job, as the people who love her, is to make that feeling as soft as possible.
